Prerequisites

Smartsign Server is a professional server product, it should be installed by a qualified IT professional.

Licenses are stored and managed online in the Smartsign License portal. As such it is required for the server to have a working Internet connection.

Smartsign Server 10 uses port 80 (http). Make sure no other application uses this port except IIS or other applications that allow port sharing. Smartsign Server will not start if it cannot allocate this port. It is not supported to change the port. In addition it will use port 443 (https) if you choose to configure SSL encryption.

The Server Installer will assist you with installing the necessary server and IIS components, but before that some parts must be installed before you start:

1. Install .NET 4.8 and .Net6.0 + .NET 7.0 (hosting bundles)
2. Install MongoDB
3. Install RabbitMQ (and its pre-requisite Erlang)
4. Install and configure Microsoft SQL Server, if you intend to store the database on the same server
   • Optional, but recommended: Install Microsoft SQL Management Studio for easier management/troubleshooting
5. Create a database user with permission to create databases
6. Have SMTP records/credentials ready
